This SCHURZ special slewing jib crane was manufactured in the desired design for a maximum load capacity of 6,000 kg at an LSP of 1,750 mm for our customer in the high-voltage electrical products sector.
The existing jib crane, which was already getting on in years, was replaced by a new, more efficient jib crane adapted to the changed requirements.
With this SCHURZ special slewing jib crane, insulation units are delivered on pallets by forklift, picked up by chains and load hooks, lifted and slewed over a laterally offset dip tank. The load can then be lowered into the dip tank in the correct position using the horizontal slide. After treatment in the dip tank, these components are lifted out again with the slewing crane, turned and placed on special pallets for further transportation.
The old existing plunge pool was replaced with a slightly larger one and the ventilation ducts on the ceiling were removed. This has changed the overall height and usable height.
In order to meet the new requirements, the lifting unit of the SCHURZ special slewing jib crane was designed using the forklift lifting mast principle, which means that the previously used spindle drive is no longer required.
A hose rupture safety device and an automatic lowering brake have been included in the safety concept. Thanks to the fully hydraulic design, two lifting speeds can now be achieved. The remaining speeds can be set once and are single-stage.
The hydraulic unit has been equipped with a special frequency converter, which allows the start and stop movements to be programmed smoothly and the overall power to be adapted to the individual functions. This ensures energy-saving and gentle operation.
On the SCHURZ slewing jib crane, the former single-arm jib was designed as a horizontal mast – the carriage and the hooks are located in between. This increased the hook height somewhat, especially as the hooks were larger due to the increased load capacity. The swivel arm length and the positioning of the load hooks were adapted to the changed requirements. Various limit switches prevent collisions with the concrete beams. The crane is operated using HBC radio remote control in crane technology.
