On Liebherr wheel loaders of types L550 – L556 it is sometimes necessary to remove the transmission units. Due to the design, however, this is not possible with normal cranes, etc. In addition, it should also be possible to remove or install the gearbox units at the customer’s premises using simple means without cranes as workshop aids.
For this reason, multi-part lifting units were developed. The complete assembly device consists of several detachable parts, which can then be disassembled and simply sent to the service points. On site, the parts are assembled once to form a lifting device, which is attached and supported at various points on the driver’s cab.
The contact surfaces are coated with PVC to protect the cab. An additional lifting beam is then attached to the gearbox using special bolts. A chain hoist is attached to the lifting device. The lifting beam with the gearbox is then attached to the hook of the chain hoist. The gearbox can now be lifted out easily, accurately and safely and reinstalled after repair or maintenance. Version with type plates, CE-compliant documentation, assembly instructions, etc.
