A well-known automotive supplier has to unload empty containers that are delivered by truck and place them in a storage area. For space reasons, unloading from the truck can only be carried out on one side. In order to carry out the unloading process quickly and efficiently, a standard forklift truck with SCHURZ special fork positioner and 1,200 mm long forks is used. However, this can only unload the first row of empty containers. In order to be able to pull the containers behind to the front, a second forklift picks up the SCHURZ container pulling device using forklift forks. It is secured by lightly clamping the SCHURZ fork positioner. The empty containers are now driven under with the SCHURZ pulling device. By lifting, the containers are hooked in by means of holding lugs and can then be pulled forward into the first row with the forklift.
The SCHURZ container pulling device is suitable for various forklifts of our customer. The customer’s existing loads consist of 3 – 4 empty containers placed on top of each other with a maximum total weight of 400 kg.
The maximum lifting force on the hook of the container manipulator for lifting and pulling containers is 200 kg.
