A well-known manufacturer of prefabricated houses requires a combined device that can be used for both standard operation and rail operation. Walls of prefabricated houses are to be pushed, pulled and braked in the halls equipped with rails.
The SCHURZ rail tractor with lifting function is used in the production line. The wall elements stand on several existing small carriages and are also guided at the top to prevent tilting.
A Linde MT 12 electric low-platform truck from the company was used for the job. ING. M. SCHURZ specially converted. The end of a house wall is placed on the converted SCHURZ rail-mounted low-lift truck and secured against slipping by means of a belt.
The existing Vulkollan wheels are used for driving on the normal floor, both on the load and drive side. The special SCHURZ Kombi low lift pallet truck can then drive onto the existing rails. On the drive side, matching flanged wheels are folded onto the rail. In this configuration, the SCHURZ special vehicle is positively guided on the rail.
The house wall is safely pushed, pulled and braked using the standard VU (Vulkollan) drive wheel. Previously, walls weighing up to 4 tons had to be moved manually by several people. The use of the vehicle relieves the physical strain on the employees, and the moving distances can be covered by one person.
The Fa. ING. M. SCHURZ will also be happy to help you bring your walls into the perfect position.
