Our customer, a well-known producer of pulp and fibers for the production of textiles, needs 4 of these special SCHURZ trolleys to transport its pressed fabric bales.
The requirements are to transport compressed bales with a maximum weight of 380 kg. The bales are to be picked up upright with the special trolley, secured by means of a centrally mounted, folding arm and transported horizontally in the hall.
The challenge for Fa. ING. M. SCHURZ now lies in maneuvering these bales with their enormous dimensions (width 1,080 mm, depth 720 mm, height 1,180 mm) and weight safely with the SCHURZ special trolley using only the force of one person.
How is the SCHURZ sack truck operated? After driving under the bale with the transport platform, the load arm must be moved forward. This is automatically locked when it rests on the bale. This prevents accidental release and tipping back of the bale safety device. It is deliberately unlocked manually. The offset mounting of the main wheel axle makes it very easy for one person to tip the load. The operator tilts the entire trolley with the bale towards him using the main axle at the top of the handles and carefully places the special trolley on the additional swivel castors. The two main wheels have a diameter of approx. 350 mm. Two solid rubber swivel castors are also fitted at the top end of the special trolley. It should be possible to push the special trolley with as upright a posture as possible. For this reason, the handles of the special trolley are higher on the operator’s side. This makes it easier to stand up again, as the entire load does not have to be lifted from far below. In addition, a push handle is fitted across the top to make it easier to push the special barrow.
