SCHURZ, your Austrian partner and manufacturer, guarantees rapid support and spare parts service in the event of questions, problems, service and damage.

For our customer, who works with technical textiles, this crane spreader beam was developed by the company. ING. M. SCHURZ and delivered. The existing crane lifting beam is no longer suitable for future requirements in terms of load capacity and is to be replaced. The required new load capacity is 4,000 kg!

The suspension point for the crane hook on the lifting beam is also an important point. This attachment point must be integrated into the lifting beam frame (approx. 150 mm lower than the existing lifting beam) to ensure the maximum free lift height of the crane with the lifting beam attached.

An electrical opening range of the support arms of 1,150 mm – 4,220 mm is required to accommodate all rolls, warp beams, fabric rolls and the various mandrels.

The distance adjustment should be carried out electrically, powered by a robust battery, designed for 5 adjustments per hour. The device should be able to be used in multi-shift operation, so an exchangeable battery is required. The control for the electric crossbeam adjustment is fixed in the middle of the crossbeam.

When loading the machine, warp beams with a yarn package are hooked onto the traverse. The shaft stubs are picked up by means of a SCHURZ special combined load support. This SCHURZ special combined load support has a roller guide for easy turning of the load and at the same time offers a safety device to prevent slipping, as well as a brake unit which prevents the load from turning.

The roller guide support may have a maximum width of 70 mm on each side. In addition, up to a maximum of 16 shafts should be transported during this process. These are currently still placed on the roller and transported unsecured. In order to make this process as safe as possible for the people in the hall, additional support arms for holding the shafts must be attached to both sides of the special SCHURZ lifting equipment and fitted with a safety catch to prevent the shafts from slipping off.

After picking up the warp beam, these arms are attached and the shafts are hung in front of the roller. This ensures safe transportation of the warp beams together with the shafts in the hall. The shafts are threaded onto the machine first. The support for the shafts is then removed from the crane crossbeam and the warp beam is hooked into the machine. To ensure that the additional support arms for the shafts are always transported on the SCHURZ spreader beam, they must be fixed to the basic spreader beam when not in use. In addition, a low dead weight of the lifting beam was required so that loads weighing up to 4 t could be lifted with the existing 5 t indoor crane.
