This SCHURZ lifting beam with additional lifting beam was individually designed and manufactured for a customer who is active in the field of steel finishing. The SCHURZ crane lifting beam is picked up by an indoor crane and is designed for a load capacity of 8 tons.
Our customer is faced with the challenge of inserting high-temperature iron parts into an immersion tank in order to refine them. These iron parts can have different shapes and lengths, so there must be a well-coordinated, combined solution for this special individual case.
In this situation, the SCHURZ crane spreader beam with additional spreader beam is used as an individual custom-made product. In order to be able to transport the red-hot parts, the SCHURZ lifting beam was manufactured with supports made of a special fire-resistant steel. These supports have special adapters which serve to secure the load when picking up red-hot round material. If no round material is being picked up, these adapters can be removed quickly and easily to create a flat surface.
Another special feature of the custom-made SCHURZ crane lifting beam is that it consists of 2 parts so that it can be used for both shorter and longer loads. The main load-bearing part consists of 3 main forks. The SCHURZ additional spreader beam with the two outer additional forks can be separated from the main spreader beam using quick-release fasteners, making it ideal for shorter loads. Conversely, the SCHURZ lifting spreader beam can be reconnected to the additional spreader beam just as quickly in order to manipulate long loads.
