The SCHURZ slicer for big bags with a weight of 2,000 kg was custom-made for one of our customers by the company. ING. M. SCHURZ produced. The customer already has a mobile device for forklift use and now it was necessary to bring a device for crane operation into use.
Chemical additives in powder form for steel production are delivered to the company in big bags and these have to be placed in a mixing bunker. The SCHURZ cutting device is placed on the grating of the mixing bunker using an indoor crane.
The fully loaded big bag is picked up with a front loader and lifted over the SCHURZ cutting device. The big bag is cut open at the bottom by lowering and emptied by lifting.
As the SCHURZ Big Bag slicer is designed with hardened blades made of special steel, these must be covered by a separate protective device for safety reasons when they are not in use.
