Work basket according to ÖNORM M 9816

The workman basket from Fa. ING. M. SCHURZ is picked up via the fork retraction shoes. The pick-up takes place on the wide side of the work basket. The basket is designed with an open roof frame, non-slip tread plate, a tray for small parts or tools and a quick-release lock to secure it to the existing forks. The workman basket is approved for 2 persons and manufactured in accordance with the current ÖNORM M 9816 standard with PPE attachment points. Specifically, this means that personal fall protection equipment can be attached to the attachment points.

A parapet approximately one meter high on three sides of the workman basket enables safe and fall-free working. The closed rear wall prevents direct contact with the lift mast and thus prevents any crushing injuries.

If required (e.g. outdoor use), the workman basket can be fitted with a closed roof. The side access opening is approx. half a meter wide, opens inwards and is specially secured against unintentional opening. The signal paint also makes the workman basket very easy to recognize during use and transport. In addition, the relevant data such as tare weight, maximum permissible total weight and the maximum number of persons to be transported are listed on a CE-compliant type plate.

The workman basket is used when work or repairs need to be carried out in places that are at a height. Thanks to its versatility, the workman basket is one of the most popular attachments for forklifts.

Work baskets must comply with the building regulations applicable in Austria and be CE-compliant.

Furthermore, forklift trucks with which a workman basket may be attached must fulfill certain requirements according to the Employee Protection Ordinance, which the manufacturer must confirm. Work baskets may therefore only be used on forklift trucks without an exemption if the forklift truck manufacturer confirms in writing that the forklift truck in question is suitable for the use of a work basket. Furthermore, depending on the conditions of use, additional measures may be necessary, such as emergency descent aids, communication equipment or safety circuits in the basket or on the forklift. In such cases, or when using work baskets on other forklifts such as normal front loaders, the forklift with work basket must be approved on site by an expert or the TÜV.
