The SCHURZ special lifting beam was manufactured for our customer in the furniture production sector in the desired design for a Linde L12 pedestrian pallet truck with a basic load capacity of 1,200 kg at LSP 600 mm.
Veneers are stored on pallets and placed on shelves at the customer’s premises. These pallets have a maximum width of 3,000 mm, a maximum depth of 1,100 mm and a maximum weight of 500 kg.
The problem is the safe, in-house handling of these pallets. When the pallets are picked up with the standard forks of a pedestrian stacker, these pallets bend due to their low rigidity and are not secured against the entire load slipping sideways. In addition to the high safety risk, this also results in damage to the veneers.
To solve this problem, the company ING. M. SCHURZ manufactured the SCHURZ special spreader beam. The load now rests evenly on four forks on the SCHURZ drawbar stacker cross beam for veneer transportation and can no longer slip sideways. In addition, straight and safe transportation to the production machine is possible.
The SCHURZ special lifting beam is picked up with the forks of the pedestrian stacker using specially adapted entry shoes and automatically secured to the stacker by means of a mechanical lock. The lifting beam must be stored on a pallet etc. to enable it to be picked up. It is not possible to place it directly on the floor.
