The SCHURZ slip clutch is suitable for a Daewoo forklift truck with a basic load capacity of 7,000 kg at LSP 600 mm and a tractive force of 49,000 newtons for the two-gear version and 59,000 newtons for the three-gear version.
The SCHURZ slip coupling is attached to the counterweight of the industrial truck using bolted connections. For this purpose, the SCHURZ slip coupling is supplied with a screw-on plate and a connecting steel cable with a length of 8 meters. The steel cable is attached with the loop (on both sides) at one end of the SCHURZ slip coupling (locking bolt) and at the other end to the wagon. The coupling hook provided for this purpose must be used as the attachment point for the wagon to be pulled. The travel path of the forklift is parallel to the railroad track and must be level (horizontal) in the direction of travel.
In this position, the industrial truck can safely pull the wagon unit. If the wagon overtakes the industrial truck, the connecting cable is automatically disconnected from the SCHURZ slip coupling via a specially installed release device. This ensures that the towing vehicle does not tip over if the wagon overtakes the forklift truck during the towing process. The driver and towing vehicle are thus protected.
The wagon unit is only pulled at walking speed (max. 5 km/h), as it is not possible to brake the wagon. It is therefore necessary in this case for a person on the other side of the track – in eye contact with the forklift driver – to accompany the transport in order to bring the wagon to a halt using restraining shoes in an emergency.
The Fa. ING. M. SCHURZ ensures that your slip coupling is also matched to your device.
