Like almost every production company, this particular customer also needs fork extensions for its forklift truck. In order to secure the standard fork extensions on the forklift forks, the forklift driver has to dismount and manually secure them to the forks. In order to avoid this work step, the company ING. M. SCHURZ has built these special SCHURZ fork extensions. This enables simple and fully automatic picking up and securing without the forklift driver having to leave his workplace.
This SCHURZ fork extension in partially closed design is suitable for a Linde forklift truck type E 50/600 HL with a basic load capacity of 5,000 kg at LSP 600 mm. There is a Kaup fork positioner on the forklift. The SCHURZ fork extensions have been fitted with special stops to suit this attachment.
The fork extensions are picked up using forklift forks and secured with our special self-locking skirt lock. The fork extensions must be positioned at a clear upward angle when being picked up. This must be ensured by the customer using a support frame. Once the extension has been picked up, it is automatically secured when it is positioned horizontally on the base fork. Conversely, the fork extension is released automatically when it is placed back in the storage rack.
