For our customer, a production and trading company for wire goods, a very interesting SCHURZ mandrel conversion was necessary.
The Kaup mandrel already in use at the company could no longer be used for the new unwinding machine as the diameter of the mandrel was too large.
The weight of the load to be lifted must now be maneuvered with a lifting pin of the same length but with a smaller diameter.
The Fa. ING. M. SCHURZ carried out a special SCHURZ modification and separated the existing support mandrel from the carrier plate. A new mandrel with the desired diameter was fitted. To do this, it was of course necessary to adapt the now larger opening on the carrier plate to the new diameter. In addition, nodes were welded on as a connection between the support mandrel and the support plate in order to be able to withstand the load from the weight of the wire rolls.
