This time, this special SCHURZ long goods spreader beam was designed and manufactured for our customer from the timber industry for rapid pick-up and locking by means of original fork adjustment of various Kalmar forklifts with a basic load capacity of 8,000 kg.
The customer’s company transports wooden packages or chipboard that are too long. This SCHURZ long goods spreader beam is used to prevent damage due to sagging of the load when picking up with only 2 forks. The load now rests evenly on 4 forks.
The SCHURZ lifting beam can be picked up and secured quickly and without tools using the forklift’s hydraulic fork adjustment. The driver does not have to dismount. A special ratchet lock at the rear of the spreader beam ensures that the SCHURZ long goods spreader beam cannot come loose accidentally. The spreader beam rests on the bottom of the forklift forks, which means that the original load stops can be retained.
The plastic stop strips on the fork backs of the SCHURZ spreader beam are used to form a sharp edge in the actually round fork bend so as not to damage the panels being picked up.
For projects with traverses, it should also be noted that the fork tips of the traverse must be aligned with the forklift forks in order to maintain work efficiency during operation. For this purpose, the fork adjustment was dismantled and sent to SCHURZ so that the fork alignment could be optimally adjusted.
