The fourth SCHURZ long goods spreader beam has already been manufactured for our customer in the desired design for a Combilift stacker with a basic load capacity of 8,000 kg at LSP 600 mm. The loads are PVC sewage pipes, which are produced in lengths of up to 17 meters. Naturally, picking up such pipe packages with 2 forks is unsafe and very difficult. Furthermore, it is not possible to load such pipe packs onto the truck in a space-saving manner due to the deflection. To solve this problem, the SCHURZ lifting beam was equipped with 6 special forks, which can be adjusted hydraulically in relation to each other. This makes it possible to adapt to different pipe lengths. Thanks to the special, very thin design of the fork blade, the support timbers between the pipe stacks can be used with a low overall height. An additional challenge was to load/unload the pipe packs from one side of the truck only. This was achieved using 6 hydraulically telescopic forks. The telescopic push forks were also equipped with a special synchronous system. The traverse also has a hydraulic level compensation system, which is used to compensate for uneven floors or inclined positions of the truck to be loaded or unloaded.
The lifting beam was permanently mounted on the carrier plate of the truck and connected hydraulically.
The forks of the SCHURZ long goods spreader beam are adjustable in depth. When retracted, load weights of up to 4,000 kg can be handled. The maximum load capacity of the spreader beam with the forks extended is reduced to 3,500 kg. The basic requirement is that the load rests evenly on all 6 forks.
The outer forks of the SCHURZ long goods spreader beam are hydraulically adjustable in the range from 8,000 mm to 12,000 mm to enable loads of various lengths to be picked up.
The entire traverse can be swiveled in both directions via a kingpin, and an integrated side shift is also installed.
