This time, one of our customers, who produces structural steel grids or special structural steel grid shapes, needed a SCHURZ lifting beam for the forklift pick-up, suitable for a Linde forklift type H 80 with a basic load capacity of 8,000 kg at LSP 600 mm. In addition, a SCHURZ crane spreader beam was required for lifting with an indoor crane.
The challenge for our customer is that these mild steel grids can be up to 12,000 mm long and up to 3,000 mm wide. If these are picked up with the forklift truck using the forks or the simple hook of the overhead crane, the grids bend very strongly. This means that only a few packages can be stacked on top of each other due to the height of the hall. Furthermore, the lattice packages are difficult to maneuver or load efficiently during truck loading.
In order to improve the efficiency and safety of the customer’s work situation, the company ING. M. SCHURZ designed and manufactured these two SCHURZ lifting beams. Both SCHURZ lifting beams are equipped with different suspension points in order to distribute the load evenly, which reduces deflection of the grating many times over.
The SCHURZ lifting beam for the forklift pick-up is picked up by means of drive-in shoes and secured using the SCHURZ quick-release fastener.
