A manufacturer of hall panels transports these very long loads using jumbo sideloaders, among other things. As the original fork spacing is too narrow for safe handling, the customer needed a customized long goods spreader beam. The additional task was to be able to adjust the outer forks hydraulically to ensure optimum support for panels of different lengths. Furthermore, the surface of the panels is very sensitive and damage to the surface had to be prevented.
The hydraulic long goods spreader beam, specially designed and built for this application, is picked up and locked via the forklift carrier plate using Jumbo’s JDQ 50/14/55 sideloader with a basic load capacity of 2,800 kg at LSP 500 mm.
To ensure optimum fork alignment of the four forks, additional rigid center forks were welded to the crossbeam. Replaceable special plastic plates prevent damage to the panels.
