A production company for photovoltaic systems manipulates rolls of film using a shell-shaped SCHURZ lifting platform specially built for this application. This platform is picked up by a Jungheinrich ETV 214 reach truck. Usually, additional accessories are locked to the forks by means of chains or bolts. However, this requires the forklift driver to get off the truck. This special SCHURZ electric locking system was developed to enable locking from the driver’s seat. Basically, this is a system similar to the quick coupler on a construction machine.
The electrically controlled locking mechanism for the existing rigid SCHURZ platform is mounted on the FEM 2 support plate of the truck using screw-on clamping jaws. The platform is secured by means of an electrically foldable safety hook.
The locking unit must not have a stem dimension in relation to the front edge of the fork.
