For our customer in New Caledonia, which mines nickel and cobalt resources, we were able to implement another project suitable for their XF25N hangcha stacker with a basic load capacity of 2,500 kg at LSP 500 mm: the SCHURZ big bag unloader.
As already explained in the previous project, the extracted raw materials are filled into special big bags, loaded into containers and shipped worldwide.
The filled big bags are loaded into containers using the SCHURZ big bag transport and loading device. Now it is a matter of being able to unload them easily, safely and efficiently from the container into which they have been loaded in a space-saving manner for optimum space utilization. However, this makes it difficult to unload them quickly.
The SCHURZ big bag unloader was manufactured and designed for this case. It is picked up via the carrier plate of the forklift truck. The device is supplied with an 8 meter long chain, at the end of which a double hook is mounted. To prevent any unwanted interference from the possibly overhanging chain during unloading, the SCHURZ Big Bag unloader is fitted with a container specially designed to store the excess chain. This prevents it from dragging on the ground or becoming entangled during operation, which would represent a massive safety problem.
Once the hooks of the SCHURZ big bag unloader have been attached to the four loops of the big bag to be removed and the chain on the unloader has been locked as briefly as possible in the anchorage provided, the unloading process can begin.
