In the timber industry in particular, so-called shaft forks are often used on forklifts in conjunction with a fork positioner. Replacing these forks, for example when the fork bend is worn or bent, is often very expensive due to the special design. As a special machine manufacturer, the company ING. M. SCHURZ can cut off the old weld-on parts at low cost and weld them onto a new fork professionally. This work is carried out exclusively by welders certified by the University of Leoben using special welding processes. Due to the low entry height common in the timber industry, the forks were supplied in a knife design, with the underside of the forks being milled from the fork bend to the fork tip.
The SCHURZ shaft forks fit on a Hyster electric forklift truck E 2.00 XM (built in 2001) and have been completely fitted with all weld-on parts and support rollers from the old forks.
