One of our customers owns a Still RX 20 – 20 forklift with a basic load capacity of 2,000 kg / LSP 500 mm. Forks measuring 80 x 40 – 1,200 mm are mounted on the Kaup fork positioner.
The mounting jaws of the forks and the arm supports of the fork positioner were heavily worn on the mounting surface. In order to avoid having to purchase new forks and arm carriers, the pick-up jaws were replaced by the company. ING. M. SCHURZ with wider and new FEM jaws. In addition, the forks were to be connected to the arm supports without play.
The worn FEM mounting jaws were removed from the top and bottom of the forks and new mounting jaws with a width of 240 mm each were professionally welded onto the top and bottom of the forks. New weld-on lugs (4 per fork) were manufactured and welded onto the back of the forks. The forks were then bolted to the arm support via the weld-on brackets to eliminate any additional play.
