For our customer in New Caledonia, who mines nickel and cobalt resources, a total of 6 SCHURZ Big Bag transport devices were designed and manufactured to fit their Hangcha stacker XF25N, with a basic load capacity of 2,500 kg at LSP 500 mm.
The mined raw materials are filled into special big bags, loaded into containers and shipped worldwide.
These big bags are specially manufactured for the customer with additional loops and in special sizes to load the container as efficiently as possible. It is therefore not possible to manipulate these big bags in the usual way with forks. In this case, it was necessary to use a custom-made transport device. Furthermore, the filled big bags have to be loaded into containers, whereby they are also stacked on top of each other. The specially attached offset loops on the big bags make it possible to stack them in the container up to the ceiling.
The SCHURZ transport device also had to be adapted accordingly. The SCHURZ big bag transport device was designed with the appropriate, individual dimensions for the loops of the big bags, the special size and for placing and stacking in the container. Upright support profiles ensure maximum utilization of the container width.
The SCHURZ Big Bag transport devices are mounted using the carrier plate of the forklift truck and the SCHURZ transport devices are secured against falling with the aid of the screw-on jaws. Thanks to the robust design, all forces are absorbed by the SCHURZ device to prevent damage to the sideshift or the carrier plate, as was previously the case.
